Sarah and Ben traveled the world for over a year and fell in love with the laid back vibe and beaches of Tulum, telling me it was the most beautiful beach they had seen over all their travels including Southeast Asia and South America. When it came to choosing a location for their wedding they couldn’t think of a better place that would be gorgeous, accessible, fun, and comfortable for their guests even if they hadn’t travelled internationally before. They invited their family and friends down for their Ahau Tulum wedding and picked some of the best spots in the area for their gatherings, including having their rehearsal dinner at the fun and beautiful Zamas right on the beach. Afternoons were spent visiting ruins, snorkeling, walking the shops along the beach strip, eating delicious local food, exploring cenotes, and adventuring around the Yucatan peninsula. When the wedding day came they rolled with the punches when the weather turned unexpectedly stormy (in the middle of their vows), and turned it into an unforgettable party that went late into the night. In Sarah’s words, she married her best friend and there were “rainstorms, rainbows, items lost and found, cracked ribs, paradise, tequila, more tequila, dance parties, white sand, and great friends and family.” It was a special celebration to be a part of and a really stunning paradise to explore.. the Yucatan peninsula is magic.
