Ariana and Seth are getting married next July and wanted to have some photographs taken in the stunning Alaskan wilderness to mark the occasion. We picked one of my favorite spots for the shoot, and with the sun beaming down on us we spent a few hours exploring and enjoying the breathtaking scenery.
I love using film to capture these special moments. Film has a timeless quality that adds a touch of nostalgia to the images. It also gives them a unique and artistic look that is hard to replicate with digital photography. The border around the image above is the true scan border, which I love giving to my couples in addition to normal film images cropped below. For wedding days I photograph with both digital and film, but engagement sessions can be slower and more creative, so I love utilizing film as much as I can.
One of the things I enjoyed most about Ariana and Seth is that they were relaxed, in the moment, and easygoing. It made the whole process so much fun and allowed for genuine and authentic moments to shine through. I believe that when couples feel relaxed and comfortable, it translates into beautiful photographs that truly capture their connection. We laughed, explored, and had a great time together. It was evident how much they love each other and how excited they are for their wedding day. Nature has a way of making everything feel more awe-inspiring and magical, and it definitely made for some gorgeous images.
