I don’t even know where to begin about Jophiel and Alex’s wedding celebration. These two brought their family and friends together from all over the world to Lake Ohrid to have a multiple day celebration. Combining their Northern Macedonian and Mexican families resulted in a beautiful experience of the merging of two families and what brought them together – the love for these two. Jophiel and Alex had SO MUCH love pouring out towards them, which is just a reflection of the love they put into the people around them. It was such an honor to be invited into their celebration and witness so much beauty.
We started by photographing a welcome gathering the first night. The second night was just for extended family photographs, which ended up being an evening of connection, tears, and soaking up being all together in one place. The third day was their epic wedding celebration, which began by getting married in a centuries old church courtyard, taking a party boat to a monastery, and ending with one of the greatest dance parties I’ve seen.
The days were captured on a mix of digital, medium format film, 35mm film, as well as a Super 8 video.
